Can Absinthe Help Catch a Crook?Submitted by brian on Mon, 05/07/2007 - 15:14.
Brevans absinthe is teaming up with the H.R. Giger to help crack the case of the famous Swiss artist’s stolen artwork. Giger has allowed the use of his piece Brain Salad Surgery I for the label of Brevans’ latest absinthe, aptly named Absinthe Brevans H.R. Giger. Giger and Brevans hope to draw attention to (and hopefully recover) two paintings that were stolen during an exposition at Prague’s Nation Technical Museum in 2005. These two 34x34 cm paintings were not returned to Giger after the exhibition closed and a $5,000 reward has offered for information leading to their return. H.R. Giger is an award-winning Swiss painter, sculptor and set designer that is perhaps best known for his work on the film Alien. Giger also spawned a style of bio-mechanical artwork that has since become popular with tattoo artists worldwide. Absinthe Brevans is a Swiss absinthe distilled to the recipes and standards of the books written by J. de Brevans such as La Fabrications des Liqueures from 1897. This absinthe uses wine and merc spirits as a base and stays true to authentic absinthe recipes from the 19th century. Master Distiller Oliver Mater uses only the finest wormwood and aromatic herbs for both the distillation and coloration resulting in a quality absinthe. This could be a great collector’s item someday when you consider the label and the back-story. Bookmark/Search this post with:
