Mansinthe. Gimmick or Good Thing?

Absinthe Distribution of Switzerland has announced a partnership with Marilyn Manson to develop a line of absinthe cleverly named Mansinthe. This absinthe will be based on Absinthe Distribution’s Prototype 35 and will be a verte or green naturally coloured absinthe.

Brevans absinthe is teaming up with the H.R. Giger to help crack the case of the famous Swiss artist’s stolen artwork. Giger has allowed the use of his piece Brain Salad Surgery I for the label of Brevans’ latest absinthe, aptly named Absinthe Brevans H.R. Giger. Giger and Brevans hope to draw attention to (and hopefully recover) two paintings that were stolen during an exposition at Prague’s Nation Technical Museum in 2005.

The Evolution of German Absinthe

For too long Germany has been one of the chief distillers of crappy absinthe marketed towards the thujone high seeking college kids. This gave the country a black eye with real absinthe aficionados. In terms of absinthe, it was “Deutschland unter alles.” It appears the tide is slowly turning and absinthe distillers in the Fatherland and finally beginning to get It.

Absinthvertrieb Lion has announced they are now offering one liter bottles of Absinthe Duplais Balance & Blanche. These larger bottles make it more economical for their overseas customers. Both of these absinthes have received good reviews since they have been released and are worthy of checking out.
